Our Texas Historic Marker was awarded in 1979 through the efforts of Molly (Mrs. J. R.) Schroeder, who was the owner of the property at that time, as well as Else Sauer, who sponsored the marker. Eloy Montalvo, the grandson of Ildefonso and Guadalupe Montalvo, was the historian for all family history contained within the research papers.
